AEA Acquires SCIO Automation

AEA Investors’ (“AEA” or the “Firm”) Middle Market Private Equity team announced today that its fund has closed the acquisition of SCIO Automation Holding GmbH (“SCIO” or the “Company”).

New York – August 31, 2023 – AEA Investors’ (“AEA” or the “Firm”) Middle Market Private Equity team announced today that its fund has closed the acquisition of SCIO Automation Holding GmbH (“SCIO” or the “Company”). Headquartered in Frankenthal, Germany, SCIO is a leading industrial automation system integrator offering solution design, engineering, implementation and support for the automation of intralogistics and production processes, with a presence in Europe and the Americas. The Company serves a broad range of end markets, including but not limited to automotive, semiconductor, electricity transmission, food & beverage, chemicals, life sciences, water treatment and general manufacturing. Alongside its engineering and Programmable Logic Controller programming services, SCIO has developed a differentiated and proprietary product offering for cleanroom applications, intralogistics solutions for the food & beverage industry and automated mobile robots. AEA is excited to invest in a leading industrial automation platform in the system integrator space that is benefiting from secular growth trends and is an area which AEA knows well from prior investments. Quadriga Capital, the prior majority owner, has reinvested a minority position.
