Joseph Carrabino, Jr.
Executive Chairman of Private Debt Funds and Partner
Joe is Executive Chairman of AEA’s Private Debt Funds and a Partner on the Private Debt team. He is also Chairman of the investment committee of all AEA Private Debt funds. In his role, he focuses on mezzanine and senior debt investments.
Prior to founding the Private Debt group at AEA in 2004, from 1999-2003 Joe was a Partner and Co-Head of the Mezzanine and Senior Debt Groups at private equity firm J. H. Whitney & Co. From 1987-1999, Joe worked in the Investment Banking Department at Credit Suisse First Boston and its predecessors, achieving the title of Managing Director. Joe focused on Financial Sponsor coverage, corporate restructurings and high yield and senior debt financings across a wide range of industries.
Joe earned an A.B. in economics at Harvard College.
Joe is deeply involved in his grammar and high schools, having established financial aid programs to provide gifted students the opportunity to receive a Catholic school education or remain at the school. Joe has also served as Co-Chairman of the Harvard Men’s basketball Friends Group for 16 years.
