AEA Acquires Spectrum Plastics Group

New York – January 31, 2018 – AEA Investors’ (“AEA” or the “Firm”) Middle Market Private Equity team announced today that it has closed the acquisition of Spectrum Plastics Group (“Spectrum” or the “Company”). Spectrum is a leading provider of highly-engineered, polymer-based solutions used in mission-critical applications in medical and other attractive specialty markets.

With 16 facilities in five countries and more than 2,000 employees, Spectrum provides a comprehensive portfolio of medical components and sub-assemblies to medical device manufacturers and end users, specialty film and bag solutions for industrial and food customers, and specialty plastic profiles for attractive, niche industrial applications. The Company’s best-in-class management team has a proven history of value creation, strong operational capabilities and integration expertise. With a track record of identifying and acquiring specialty medical businesses to augment its existing portfolio, Spectrum remains an ideal platform to build on existing capabilities by completing accretive acquisitions.
