Ben Hoffstein

Ben Hoffstein is Chief Information Officer of AEA. In his role, he leads the firm’s Data Science, AI, and Technology strategy across AEA and its portfolio companies, embedding advanced analytics into the investment process and partnering with deal teams and portfolio company leadership to deliver operating and financial impact.

Prior to joining AEA, Ben served as Chief Technology Officer at Soros Fund Management, where he led a multi-year technology and data transformation effort. Before Soros, Ben was Co-Chief Information Officer at Balyasny Asset Management, overseeing Macro Technology, Risk Technology, Infrastructure, and Information Security globally. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Pine River Capital Management and held senior engineering and technology leadership roles across hedge funds and global financial institutions.

Ben graduated with honors from NYU’s Stern School of Business with a double major in Finance and Information Systems.

Ben serves on the board of Good Shepherd Services, a New York City nonprofit dedicated to expanding opportunities for children and families in underserved communities.
