Charles Dougherty

Charles (Chuck) Dougherty joined AEA as an Operating Partner in 2023. In his role, he is primarily focused on working with portfolio companies to maximize value creation through improved operating performance and enhanced growth initiatives.

Before joining AEA, Chuck was the President and Chief Executive Officer at Hardinge, Inc. (NASDAQ: HDNG), a supplier of Machine Tool systems for industrial applications. Prior to Hardinge, Chuck served as President and Chief Executive Officer of American Science & Engineering Inc. Earlier in his career, Chuck served in various leadership roles at Tyco Electronics Corporation and Motorola.

Chuck graduated from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a B.B.A with concentrations in management and finance. He earned an M.B.A. from Villanova University and attended the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management Executive Development Program.
