Christian Johnson

Christian is a Partner on AEA’s Private Debt team, Co-Head of Private Debt Origination, and AEA’s Financial Sponsor Liaison. In his role, he focuses on junior capital, equity co-investment, and senior debt investment opportunities in addition to leveraging relationships to create connectivity and facilitate proactive deal sourcing across the firm’s private equity investment strategies. He is a member of the Investment Committees for all AEA Private Debt funds.

Prior to joining AEA, Christian was an investment professional at Allied Capital in New York where he originated, executed, and monitored middle market mezzanine and control buyout transactions. Prior to Allied Capital, Christian worked at GE Equity, the private equity investment division of GE Capital. Christian started his career at Chemical Bank where he was a member of the Acquisition Finance Group.

Christian earned an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a B.A. in economics from Trinity College.
