5 Derek is the Head of Data Science and Managing Director on AEA’s Middle Market Private Equity team. In his role, he is focused on building AEA’s internal data analytics capabilities to support the investment process and MMPE’s portfolio companies.
Prior to joining AEA, Derek worked at Millennium Management as Co-Head of Data Science, focusing on alternative data sources relevant to the health care and consumer spaces.
Derek earned a B.A. from Reed College and a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon, both in the field of sociology.
