John Sedlacek

John is a Principal on AEA’s Small Business Private Equity team. In his role, he focuses on investment opportunities in the industrials, services and transportation/logistics sectors. John serves on the boards of CIMSense, Monroe Engineering, Montway and RED Global. He also served on the board of former AEA portfolio company Balboa Instruments.

Prior to joining AEA, John was an investment banking analyst at Berenson & Company in New York, focusing on mergers & acquisitions and financings for clients in a variety of sectors.

John earned an A.B. in economics from Harvard College.

Since 2014, John has been an active mentor with Read Ahead, a reading-based mentorship program for elementary school students. In 2019, he became a member of Read Ahead’s Junior Board.
