Kate Smith

Kate Smith is an Operating Director, Portfolio Talent with AEA’s Operating Resources Group, where she focuses on driving value creation through talent strategy and organizational effectiveness across the AEA MMPE Portfolio. She leads organizational diligence for new investments and partners with portfolio company leaders and investment professionals to evaluate and evolve leadership teams, shape talent priorities and leadership effectiveness, and drive portfolio-wide human capital initiatives.

Prior to joining AEA, Kate worked at Spencer Stuart, where she focused on CEO and board-level searches for public and private equity-backed companies, and at Boston Consulting Group, where she advised on organization and talent strategy for large, complex organizations.

Kate holds an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and an A.B. from Princeton University.
