John Sedlacek

John Sedlacek is a Principal on AEA Investors’ Small Business Private Equity team. In his role, he focuses on investment opportunities in the industrials, services, and transportation & logistics sectors. John serves on the boards of CIMSense, Monroe Engineering, Montway, RED Global, and Splash Car Wash. He also served on the board of former AEA portfolio company Balboa Instruments.

Prior to joining AEA, John was an investment banking analyst at Berenson & Company in New York, focusing on mergers & acquisitions and financings for clients in a variety of sectors.

John earned an A.B. in economics from Harvard College.

John has been an active mentor with Read Ahead, a reading-based mentorship program for elementary school students, since 2014. He currently serves as a Read Ahead board member, having previously served as a member of the organization’s junior board since 2019.
